I suggest, just for a little something different, look up "The Storm" by Yanni. All instrumental, if you can get past the 1:30 minute cello solo at the begining...its pretty though. The rest is freaking amazing

Tomahawk is the shit. Mike Patton + drummer from Helmet + bassist from The Melvins + guitarist from The Jesus Lizard.

I'd suggest Mike Patton's other band Mr. Bungle

If you want heavy It's hard to say, but I'd suggest starting with Mastodon.
